Marston's Employees Charity Fund exists to provide equipment for people in need within the Marston's Trading Area. Donations come from Charity Fund Members individual payroll giving and also through raffles, sponsored events and collections. Active since 1980, over £160,000 of equipment has been provided for hospitals, special needs schools and disabled people associated with the breweries. The committee are employees and retired members who meet monthly, without any expenses. In the last 12 months over £12,000 has been generously donated and given to sixteen separate good causes. These included an electric wheelchair, a computerised display for training brain-damaged victims, a blood oximeter, a horse drawn carriage for wheel chair users, a special tilting chair for stroke victims, an exercise bike, alarms at a blind centre, a cooker at a respite day centre and a motorised tilting bed. The charity is always delighted to consider further requests from its members.
